Im Rahmen der internationalen Summer School „Interreligious Dynamics in Times of Conflict“ findet am 3. September 2026 ein öffentlicher Abendvortrag mit Prof. Yossef Schwartz von der Tel Aviv University statt.
Unter dem Titel „Persecution and the Art of Translation: Linguistic Moments of Religious Violence“ richtet der Religionswissenschaftler und Wissenschaftshistoriker den Blick auf die Zusammenhänge von Verfolgung, Übersetzung und Sprache in Kontexten religiöser Gewalt. Yossef Schwartz leitet ein Teilprojekt des LOEWE-Zentrums „Dynamiken des Religiösen“ und gibt in seinem Vortrag Einblicke in seine Forschung.

Sie wird vom LOEWE-Zentrum „Dynamiken des Religiösen“, dem Buber-Rosenzweig-Institut für jüdische Geistes- und Kulturgeschichte und dem Frankfurt-Tel Aviv Center for the Study of Religious and Interreligious Dynamics veranstaltet. Die Summer School findet vom 30. August bis 7. September 2026 auf dem Campus Westend der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt statt.

As part of the international Summer School “Interreligious Dynamics in Times of Conflict” a public evening lecture by Prof. Yossef Schwartz of Tel Aviv University will take place on 3 September 2026.
In his lecture, “Persecution and the Art of Translation: Linguistic Moments of Religious Violence”, the religious studies scholar and historian of science will explore the connections between persecution, translation, and language in contexts of religious violence. Yossef Schwartz leads a subproject at the LOEWE Center “Dynamics of the Religious” and will provide insights into his research.
